I decided to start a blog as a tribute to my Grandfather, who unfortunately has Alzheimer’s Disease.
“Gramps,” as all his grandchildren have always called him, has always had a great sense of humor. Though he can be a little hard to deal with on some days, his humor still manages to shine through. Recently he had a large scratch on his face. When my mother asked him, “What happened?”, he simply responded, “you should have seen the other guy.”
It is to him, and everyone else who has a loved one with this difficult, and still misunderstood disease, that I dedicate this blog. I don’t intend to make light of the disease, but rather to bring some humor and support to those whose lives are touched by Alzheimer’s.
I welcome people to share their funny stories by posting on my blog. Hopefully, when times get tough, this will be a place for people to turn to reassure themselves that they are not alone, and to be thankful each day, be it a funny one, or a difficult one, that we have these loved ones in our lives.
